About Me

Leslie Crossman, PhD has a worked many years with young children, adolescents, and adults, along with their families, primarily in educational and school settings. She is a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. She received a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology in the College of Education from Texas A&M University, a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Stephen F. Austin University. She completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Austin, with a B.A. in Psychology. After completing an internship from the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, she began working at the Houston Independent School District. She was employed with HISD for 27 years and was formerly a Senior Psychologist and a Lead LSSP. 

As a licensed psychologist for over 25 years, she has specialized in psychological and educational assessment, focusing on assisting children, adolescents and adults, and their families, with understanding learning and emotional difficulties and needs. Dr. Crossman has extensive experience in working and consulting with special education students, parents of students, teachers, and staff in school settings.  She has experiencing in assessing the need for accommodations and recommendations for students with disabilities. Dr. Crossman is active in local and state professional associations and was previously elected President of the Houston Psychological Association. She also served as a board member and of the Houston Psychological Association. She is a member of the Texas Psychological Association and Houston Psychological Association.
