Psychoeducational Testing

A Psychoeducational or Educational Assessment involves evaluation of cognitive skills, achievement skills, language skills, and phonological processing.  The cognitive skills assessed are related to an individual's functioning related to long and short-term memory, verbal comprehension, visual-spatial skills, fluid reasoning, processing speed, and auditory processing. Areas of acheivement evaluated consist of reading skills, reading comprehension, math skills, mathematical reasoning, written expression, receptive and expressive language, listening comprehension and processing speed.  This type of evaluation is used by psychologists to determine learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, dyscalcula and dysgraphia.
